Thinking of doing an engine flush

My engine is about to break 100K and I want to do an engine flush. At 75K, I switched from dino oil to Mobil 1 5W-30 (synthetic). At 90K, I switch to Amsoil 5W-30 (synthetic). My question is, which way should I go: Amsoil engine flush or Auto-RX ? After I flush, I plan to fill up with Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30.

I vote NO to an engine flush. Just stay with religious Synthetic Oil Changes and your motor will last beyond forever....

If your gonna do one go with the AutoRX, though you will have to go back to conventional oil for a while, its really mild and won't break anything free to get stuck in an oil passage like those 5 minute flushes they sell.

Well, I hear a ticking sound from the engine and thought maybe this might help alleviate it. I don't mind going back to dino oil for a few thousand miles if it will help my engine run smoother and quieter in the long run.

is't "ticking" caused by loose valves? If I'm correct oil additives will not solve the problem. (I hope I'm wrong)

If you do anything at all, do two Auto-RX cycles, given you are at 100K and follow the instructions to the T, ie. no short cuts. Run dino oil on the two rinse phases.

However, I question why you want to do anything at all.

I did an Auto-RX clean and rinse and switched to synthetic oil in February. My engine runs so quietly, I can't hear it at idle with the windows rolled up.

I don't hear it either when the windows are up. But hearing the tick when I'm standing in front of an open engine bay annoys/concerns me.

I got a weird result from auto-rx. After I used it and I was changing my oil the oil took a really long time to come out. Really really long time to come out.
