Where to get synth brake fluid for my 04 maxima in Detroit?

hey all, just across the river in windsor, ont.

Need to change the brake fluid - was going to head into detroit and pick it up there with a few other things. Was reading that the valvoline synth dot 4 is the best bang for buck. Where is the best place to get this stuff? Does wal-mart carry it? or?!?

Was going to use some synth in there and call it a day. suggestions on different brands of synth brake fluids (ATE?) and places to get them in Detroit appreciated. I do not track the car, just drive it around, so that crazy motul 5.1 stuff is probably unnecessary.

Also, this car need dot4 or dot3? or does it even make a difference?

DOT 4 is overkill, and you'll pay more money for it.

If you're interested in a synthetic fluid, AMSOIL recently introduced (synthetic) brake fluid in DOT 3 and DOT 4 formulations. AMSOIL's DOT 3 is considerably less expensive than their DOT 4; yet it surpasses the performance requirements of a DOT 4 fluid.

Minimum boiling points for DOT 4 is 446 deg F dry, and 311 deg F wet (3% water absorbtion). Minimums for a DOT 3 fluid are 410 deg dry and 284 deg wet.

AMSOIL synthetic DOT 3 has a dry boiling point of 525 deg F and a wet boiling point of 313 deg F. AMSOIL's DOT 4 has a dry boiling point of 580 deg F and a wet boiling point of 410 deg F.
