Shell "Nitrogen Enriched Gas" ?
Yeah I think its all marketing, I mean there are times when I feel a harder pull and times when it seems like my car is performing noticeably worse. I think its all in my head, but as for MPG I use Shell and Safeway brand gas, and there is no change in MPG

i only use shell gas. best gas mileage seen outta my 4th gen max than other gas companies such as mobil, sunoco, exxon, bp, hess, etc. I've gotten 380 miles to my tank on the highway. driving in nyc is another story, rush hour traffic FTL.

I get an easy 400 on a tank, with mixed driving.
edit: I also typically go to shell. partly because its 100% gas (no e), but mostly because it's the closest to my house.
but no change in mpgs or performance over their previous blend
I use Shell and have for every single tank since brand new on my 09 Max but I think the nitrogen is more marketing but it would be cool if after 350,000 miles after a tear down I saw some clean valves!
I don't think you'll feel a difference I mean you would have to have a lot of gunk in your intake and injectors in order to really feel the difference and I wonder how many tanks you would need to go through before you see any benefit?

Shell's engine-cleaning gas isn't technically anything new, either, since all gasoline products have been required by the EPA to include a minimum amount of additives and detergents [source: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency]. However, Shell's gasoline does meet and exceed TOP TIER Gasoline Detergent standards, which is a voluntary standard that several major automakers including Audi, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen created in order to improve the quality of gasoline.

I filled up at $2.84 today for Shell super. So much for cheap oil...up 80 cents in the last month.

I used BP/Amoco ultimate before and switched to Shell V-power about a year ago and I notice that the car seems a bit more responsive and runs smoother.......but maybe its just me.....you know kinda like the car seems to run better when you wash and detail it.....

I partly believe it is a marketing ploy due to the fact that no immediate gains will ever be felt. Only time will tell how well the gas works and you would have to habitually use it.

Since the early 1970s, the US (EPA) has led the ban on the use of lead because of its adverse health effects. It wasn't until 1996 when the Clean Air Act was enforced that leaded gasoline was fully banned in the US. Lead also interferes with the catalytic converter and its lower emissions, thus the phasing out lead.
P.S. The "UNLEADED GASOLINE" sign at gas station applies to all octane ratings of the gasoline sold. =)

Well, your easy 400 on tank is on a 1991 Maxima compared to my 1999 Maxima. I think my gas mileage right now is near or on the mark of the advertised highway gas mileage of the 4th gen Maximas. My calculated gas mileage is on the lines of 25.8 mpg highway. The 380 miles that I stated was with my tank at almost a 1/4 tank left, according to my gas gauge...since i never let my tank go below the 1/4 tank mark.

but what does model have to do with it? if anything, mine should have more ****ty mpg, due to being way older than yours, and having more miles.

Here's an idea!Model type has a lot to do with gas mileage. Different sized cars, different car weights, different engine types (your SOHC to my DOHC), different sized gas tanks ALL contribute to your gas mileage, so yes model does make a difference. It also depends on how you drive, i.e. if you go WOT all the time, your gas mileage will be sh*tty. Trying to make the point that "you gas mileage sucks" when it clearly does not is not conducive to this forum now is it? Now if you had a 4th gen max like I do, and tell me you have better gas mileage than I do, then I would be asking YOU what are you doing different from me so that I can better my gas mileage. I calculate my gas mileage everytime I fill up and try to adjust my driving in order to get the best mpg, albeit being stuck in traffic can't be helped at times.
Last year when the barrel was $150+ gas was $4.40. Now the barrel is $50 or $60 and gas is above $3. Funny how it doesn't make sense...

The stuff is similar to Techron and quite impressed. I used to get an occasional P0430 (though when I got my emissions test done, the CATs were super efficient, realized it is the stupid CA emissions that is too strict that it trips the ECM to thro the code) and it is completely gone.

I actually just filled up at the shell that's near my house and the guy was telling me it was the most expensive gas around @$3.01 for 93. All other stations are around $2.82 and up for premium. I currently don't noticed a difference and people are saying over time you MAY see a difference.
Most gas now has %10 or less enthanol around here, I believe that's what the little stickers say on the pump.
