Just a random question......

How can just changing oil possibly make the car pull harder????

Its just a lubricant.

idk it makes sense to me, i mean the better lubricated the engine is, the less resistence it has to deal with, so the less power you loose to the friction and more power gets sent to the wheels, but thats just my opinion

You may notice a slight difference at idle with a thinner/thicker oil, but as far as pulling harder you are not going to notice it.

I have no clue, I just felt it pull stronger, and also I'm getting better mpg ( guys remember that my old oil was crap, literally the cheapest thing the mechanics put in it).

Yea, dude don't get it from the store, I got mine (5qt of 5w30) with the K&N filter for 50 bucks shipped from amazon.

Worse thing you can do to your motor.

Stick with mobil 1

Yeah....that was my thought.

If there's enough friction in your engine to notice it on the butt dyno (solely because of oil), I think a little less power would be the least of your problems.

I now run royal purple ( I got a deal on amazon )

I notice no difference, other than color

Yeah some people says that according to dynos it adds like 3 torque and 5 hp, just by simply using the oil.

But to me, having that "extra" power at a 2x the cost of a oil change every however many miles you go until an oil change, is too much money down the tube.

Also I remembered reading somewhere that Royal Purple also shreds a lot faster than other oils.

But yeah, if anyone makes a cheaper version of it, like Royal Green or whatever, that does the same thing then I'll probably use it religiously

When I used royal purple after 3000 miles of daily driving the oil's viscosity was real thin (almost water-like) which isn't good for any synthetic oil after 3,000. That'll discourage me from ever using royal purple ever again.

I stick w/ Amsoil now

The price it's outrageous. I can't justify spending 70+ on an oil change, sorry. I'll stick with my Mobil 1 Full Synthetic for half the price. I promise it will do the same thing.

If you read the Oil Change FAQ, Royal Purple has been discouraged among Maxima owners. It thins out so fast compared to the other synthetics.

Read the UOAs on Mobil 1 oil compared to Royal Purple. Read the FAQ. Actually just read period. Theres a reason RP is discouraged, nobody has a grudge against the company or anything. I'm sure you had more power and better running too. care to post the dyno results of your test?

Many people fall for the hype and BS and jump on the Royal Purple bandwagon without researching it and actually think that its a better product and that their car will perform better using it then other synthetic because of its claims. Way over priced when there are better oils out there.
There are many reviews out there, here is just one..

I will agree that about that since they lists Amsoil as being number one, but they still rate many others above RP, including Mobile 1.

Believe it, i felt it. A lubricant CAN ma crappy oil thake a car pull harder because it will have better compression. if you go from oil seeping past worn piston rings and then royal purple comes in and cleans it all up and makes more compression making more torque and hp.

you get what im saying lol i cant explain it good, but i felt it after using ENGINE RESTORER its like $10 a 8cyl can.

You couldn't pay me to use Royal Pimple in my car. ESPECIALLY at their inflated price and crappy UOA results.

You could see a 5whp/3wtq change just by doing two back to back pulls on the dyno.

That's utter BS, I use Chevron mineral oil in my car. If I wanna gain horsepower add bolt-ons and change the software.
