Another "What oil filter" thread

So im in a market for an oil change and im not the sharpest tool when it comes to oil filters. I usually use m1 5W30 but for my filter i just slap on the gray fram which seems to get a lot of smack for quality.

So, what should i get? Ive been lurking this section, so far told to stay away from mobil 1 108, fram, supertech ect. So what to get? I cant find m1 110 anywhere, m1-105 is discontinued.

What about napa gold filters? Anyone can chime in on a filter i can just waltz into a store and get?
Thanks.

There's no such thing as a oil filter being approved for a specific engine.

I've been using Wix filters for quite a while now. I know others that use Wix filters in their vehicles, which include the VQ. There's also a lot of positive reviews on the interwebs.

Mobil 1 makes a filter that has more filter surface area and continues more time to go with their oil. I see them everywhere that sells filters. I always use fram filters and have never had a issue with one in 3 yrs.

Unless you are using one of their upgraded filters, stop using them.

Even the toughgaurds are still made of crap, but apparently their outer shell is pretty tough based on some teardown reviews I've seen.

Best way to find out what's the BEST oil + filter for your car is to test your used oil via Blackstone labs.

There is nothing wrong with Fram filters, its just that for the price you pay for a Fram you can get a Purolator or Wix filter of better quality.

I am currently running Wix on my Max but previous run and all future runs will be on Bosch Premium (Purolator Pure One re badge I believe). Both are quality filters and have no issues on my car.

Wix, Purolator Classic, or NAPA Pro select is better and cheaper than an OCOD (Orange can of death Fram).

Probably all alone here.....but I like the OEM Nissan 15208-9E000 filter and Mobil 1 oil. Ran the oil and filter for 91K miles on my old 2007 Maxima. Already have 30K on the 2012 Maxima with same oil/filter and expect to get 100K on this car.

naw, a lot of people use the Nissan oil filters. They are very good as well but I'm not sure how long they are rated for. Likely only conventional oil mileage
