Areas to Avoid Spraying with Ashphalt Rubber Underbody Rust Proofing
Does anyone know any of the techniques the rust proofing shops use? Can I spray the header pipe, and muffler assembly or mask it completely?

I just did mine yesterday, and I drained the oil out of the car and used 3L of dirty oil. It's VERY messy though, it got all over my work suit and dripped on the driveway, but everything looks wet now.
I bought an underbody spray gun (air tool).

Yup, it's nasty but it's what we use up here in the great white north. I found out what krown uses (Krown is the top rust proofer in Canada), they use basically the equivalent to WD40, but a ghetto method that works is oil.
In fact, they recommend not to use the rubber coatings, it in fact can trap water and clog drain paths where water can pool and create rust. I peeled off the rubber/plastic coating in the wheel wells and found a nasty surprise. Completely rusted metal underneath. What lies beneath!
