Cheap OBD II scanner
Anyone have any suggestions on a good OBD II scanner for cheap? I searched but all I came up with was some threads from 2006. Basically looking for something with decent features but not all the bells and whistles. Also brands to stay away from?
Thanks,

Do you want more than just a code reader? What's your budget? You can also buy an OBD interface (called "ELM") & connect it to a laptop and then run the right software, not very portable though. I personally have an AutoXRay EZ-Scan 4000 which I've had for about 6 years now....can be had off eBay for under $200.

Harbor Freight has been running a special on OBD II scanners for about a month now. The last price I saw was $85. I'm not sure of the functions available, build quality, etc. of that particular unit though. It might be worth checking out.
*EDIT* - Found two on the cheap at Harbor Freight, hit the links for specs.
This one is $119.99

$120.00 for what that scanner does is pricey IMO. If you have a laptop $120 can get you a code scanner that also data logs, shows all sensor outputs, graphs them for you and even shows you what systems have run the emissions tests (says passed, not passed, not run, etc.) and it works on all OBD II systems... I have autoenguinity. I like it for what it is and when I bought it, it was $135 shipped to me.
A general code scanner that can clear IMO should cost $35.00-$40.00 since it's pretty much basic old technology...Anything over $50.00 and you could just save the cash and go to autozone for free.
