Black Friday Shopping

Anyone here doing some black friday for any tools?

If I wasn't moving and packing my PODS tomorrow, I'd be all over the 204 piece craftsman mechanic tool set for $99. There's a few smaller 9.99 items that I'd get as well.

Glad to know I'm not the only one suffering.

Leaving to go shopping in a little bit.

Glad I don't have to work in a store today

Don't worry, though - I did my time. 2005 and 2006. got in at 3am, left at midnight. In '06, I was the first employee to arrive, got to the store a few minutes before the manager, so I stood chatting for like 10 minutes with all the people who had been waiting all night, until the manager came to unlock the door. Had some interesting experiences, but I'm glad that I've moved past my Circuit City days.

There's only one thing worse in the retail world than having to work the irons (open to close) on black friday - having to work the irons on green saturday too. Possibly the most unpleasant morning of my life. After a cool 21 hour shift, I staggered home to a few hours of slep before forcing myself out of bed at 6am so I could get to the store by 7am, when my shift started on Saturday.

My condolences to all of you stuck working. At least you'll hit overtime pretty fast this week. Time and a half, double time, gotta love it. fat paycheck next week.

No incidents at Sears. Already sold about $8k. I was barely on the register as well, I was too overwhelmed.
Go back in at 5pm to close.

Sweet ... I went to sears this evening after my wife purchased a GPS for $99 online. They had some sweet deals there and I wanted to buy everything I saw ... But I didn't

Lol....most of the doorbusters we completely sold out. Online and in-store.

The hot items were the $20 Jazz mini camcorder and the $89 Garmin GPS

I didn't see anything worth buying that I didn't have 3 already...
And the few things I did want were only like $20 off. I'd rather burn $20 than deal with Houston's black friday chaos.
