Hi, new guy here 1996 GLE noise

Hello,

I am new to this forum and I have a noise that I am trying to diagnose. Sitting in the car, at an idle, I get a resonant humming that sound like a bad or low PS pump. I listen to the PS pump from out side the car at the pump, no noise. Moving the wheel or increase in RPM does not change tone of the noise. I feel around the fire wall for vibrations and I do get a "harmonic" vibration at the fuel filter.

So , I am leaning toward a fuel pump or a rack........any thoughts or experience with something similar??

Welcome to the org. You'll get more help if you post this question in the 4th gen section as opposed to the section you did...the garage and workshop section won't get you much help for your car.

I was thinking the blower motor fan but it is on the passenger side. For the heck of it, unplug the blower motor and see if that helps.
