My Maxima turns in and moves but doesn't go past 2000RPM. It makes this really loud sound which I feel is coming from the back side of the engine near the windshield. My brother was driving it and says he was going 65 down the highway and all of a sudden the noise came up. I took off the front valve cover and everything is moving properly. I cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve the other day so i'm thinking that that might have messed it up But I doubt it. I will ask one question that your engine light is on? As I think maybe its coming from the engine belt if it is loose so tighten up otherwise just tune up your vehicle. I hope it's not a major issue.

My belt was fine but I think my engine actually blew. There was oil leaking from underneath the car and it wasn't from the oil pan and now it doesn't even start. Like at all. I turn the key in the ignition and when it's supposed to turn on there's a clicking sound from the engine kind of like the sound you get when your car is out of battery and won't start but a little louder.
