I bought new jack stands about 2 years ago but I can't remember where from. They don't look like the ones in the photo in the recall article, nor do they have any labels with numbers on them.

I had these collapse on me while I was under my Maxima. Luckily I had the jack still up and an old wheel under the car. Piece of crap almost took my life.

Using jack stands alone is not safe. The typical advice is to be sure and use jack stands and that if you don't you are stupid. Yet that advice can be the root cause of a car crushing your skull. People think they're doing the responsible thing by supporting the car by jack stands, yet they don't use any sort of backup or contingency. I always use an OEM tire jack on each side of the car in addition to jack stands, I suggest everyone does the same.

When was this in relation to you escaping the twin towers and recovering from a COVID infection?

I wasn’t at the twin towers that day, but I did escape out of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
