new recall?

Hey, is there a new recall on the maximas?

Both me and my dad got a letter yesterday saying there is a recall campaign for both of our cars, however, the letter doesn't say what the recall is.

I know it's not the cam shaft sensor recall cuz of this whole fiasco: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=546519

I've checked nthsa's site, and there is no current recalls. Does nissan have their own site for recalls or did anyone else recieve these letters?

I don't see any new recalls. Sure it's not a letter just to get you back in the showroom???

Probably a new one. It should be free and I hope it's not too serious, but I'll be taking it in soon. I wondered why Nissan was so damn busy last week, and I got this little post card when I got home.

But I didn't get a letter...??

Edit: I've got an 03...and it checked out fine for the first recall because my VIN was not listed. Maybe they're adding more VINs to the cam sensor recall?

NOTE recall pertains to all 2000-2003 Nissan Maxima vehichles without VQ35DE engine replacement with supercharger upgrade.

If you have not contacted your local Nissan dealer regarding this service campaign please do so to reserve your appoitment.

Please direct any questions to 1-800-Nissan1

Hell yessss!!! I'm getting this done tomorrow!

Recalls should never expire or at least here - in Europe

If i were you, i would print that TSB out and show it to the dealer.

Never got a letter...yet. Hopefully Canadian Maxima's aren't affected by this recall.

lol @ Jess...I wish Nissan would install a SC in my car for free.

Sorry I think I was dreaming the other night. Would have been nice right?!

But I will be calling them tomorrow to ask if it's about the cam sensor or if it's something new....or could be they just want you in there to pay for more stuff.

Wish they'd do an ecu upgrade. More HP ftw

Okay just called them today. They looked up and said to call in the next 7 days since my VIN doesn't reflect the recall.

He mentioned that some VIN#s had been recalled in error.

Least I didn't waste any gas going there lol

2000-2003 SENTRA, MAXIMA, 2002 ALTIMA, 2003 MURANO, 350Z; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN ENGINE SENSORS
Nissan has determined that some 2000-2003 model year Nissan vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. The engine might stop running while being driven if the crank position sensor or cam position sensor fails. This may also result in the "Service Engine Soon" light coming on or reduced engine power. If the engine stops running while driving, this could result in a crash without warning.

crap....i have this problem got this info from http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/Knowledgebase/links/291
