The rain and other tasks prevented me from making them today.
I'm all out of boards, once I make some, I'll post a picture. You'll have your picture this week.
The prices are correct-

Pictures as requested....

The recessed box is not yet screwed to the board (and is therefore slightly crooked in the picture), nor is the box/board mounted to the spare tire, but I hope you get the idea you were looking for. Also, sorry I couldn't give you a full trunk snapshot, my amp is mounted to my sub box which makes removing it very difficult.
I can ship on Monday if I receive paypal Sunday night.

I need exactly what you have in the first post on page one. Both pieces if possible. My sub box is leaning towards the back of my trunk. Its really annoying and I have no trunk space cuz of this. How much shipped to 11967
Do you want everything carpeted or non-carpeted?
The shelf is two pieces of 6 inch long 2x4, carpeted, then screwed into the trunk floor sheetmetal using 2.5" screws. The shelf is 6" x 30", carpeted and screwed into the blocks using shorter screws, about 1-1/4"
Since the very rear of the trunk (right near the opening) is higher than the rest, this shelf levels out the back of the trunk, creating a stair or step in the rear
The box is NOT screwed to the shelf, and it doesn't slide at all.
End result:

You can even see the step in the picture.

They were dropped off end of day Monday, and each tracking number now has updated information with estimated delivery times. Please let me know if there is a problem.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thank you! I'm always welcome to new design ideas, though this one has been mentioned before. When I get some free time (and it gets warmer out), I'll work up a prototype to see which design works best for cost of materials, easiness to build, and better stability.
Try some "Trupan Light"
BTW, awesome shipping time. You had my tracking number literally 5 minutes after I paid.

Double the price, and density is bout 2/3 of MDF.
Eh, I'll look into it...
www.ups.com is a beautiful thing

i know it cost more, but it weighs a lot less. i was not aware of the density though...
"First is its weight. Trupan Light is only 80% of the overall weight of regular MDF. This will yield a much lighter enclosure overall Even though Trupan is lighter, it still remains as “acoustically dead” as regular MDF.
Trupan is also a much better choice of material to use from the builders standpoint. It cuts much smoother, routes easier, and holds screws much better than MDF. Not only that, but Trupan is much easier on the shop equipment.
However, on average, Trupan cost is nearly double that of MDF."
