3rd Gen vs. 4th Gen
#2
3rd gens look better, but it's much easier to get a excellent condition 4th gen because they're newer. All 3rd gen GXE's make 160 HP and 92-94 SE's make 190 HP, while all 4th gens make 190. Also, the 160 HP engines have timing belts and the other ones have chains.

all preferance
if you can get a low mile 3rd gen with 190 hp in 5spd get that cuz hey independant suspension kicks the 4th gens truck suspension ***. but then again you cant get an SC in a 3rd gen ... ask mikey hehe, but then again he'll be the first one to tell you, you can get a turbo in the third gen, but then again he still doenst have a license or his own max ? ... but he still knows his **** even though he is a lil crazy liken the third gens more than the 4th gens

Re: 3rd gen better looking?..
I agree completely. This is a matter of taste and your personal preference. If you like the boxy style the go with the 3rd if not the 4th is the only choice. Sorry I think the 4th looks better, also the VQ is awesome!!!!!!

Better off getting a newer car for hoses, belts, seals and over all wear and tear. Plus if you really want VALUE-you can buy a GXE 5 speed for 7-12,000. If you buy a 3rd gen you have to buy the SE for the 190 hp engine. Plus, the 3rd gen cars (although they look great) are starting to look dated. More likely to get a piece of @ss in a 4th gen.
