looks like ill either have to get a 2k2 or make a lift kit if i want a new max :P
i do alot of 4wheeling in mine
MrGone
that looks ALOT better than the spy pics.
kinda like the 2k2 lights better though, head lights atleast. the tails arent bad either. it does look like a 3rd gen though, alittle more boxy than anticipated, sweet, i was getting kinda sick of all the fugly concepts that looked like wanna be spaceships or something.

I registered today to post those pics I really like the look of it. Looks like the next Max to me, or maybe what the next Max will be based on. It has the Maxima characteristic c-pillar and wheel arches. Maybe this would have been the I35. I have heard somewhere that the next Cefiro would be based on the new Altima. I would love it if the next max wasn't that bloated thing in the earlier spy shots

much nicer looking (especially the tail, it looks a bit like an acura)...not a huge fan of that front end (grille looks too big and i dont know what to do about the lights)...but needless to say much nicer than those old spy shots

if that is the new maxima coming out in 2005 im gonna start saving to get me one and hope nissan decides to put a stick option on the gle an that car is beautiful but the 97-99 type grill not good

I just realized something. I remembe hearing the Altima was going to be the new Cefiro. If this is correct that may just be the Cefiro version of the nissan altima. Come to think of it..it really does look a lot like the altima with a little grill work, side plading and new tails(typical cefiro difference).

Wow.. that is hot. First the G35, now this! It is hard to stay in a car long enough to not get soaked on trade-in. I have a car fetish or something.
Wife has a 2001 pathfinder SE (loaded), I have a 2k Max. I'm thinking Murano for her and for me????

Nice, Luxurious Max

I really like this new Max. I just hope thats it, though. I does resemble the Altima but then again I like the Altima. Just don't like that it has that black trim on the sides. I would paint that right after I drove it off the lot. Overall, me likey.

Who says I think a glorified altima front end on steroids is bad? Or a over groan camry tail end?

Here's a good twist on something:
1) 5th gen Maxima design, built in Japan. Sold *only* in the US and Canada
2) 6th gen Maxima design, to be built in the US. Chances are, to be sold only as a US/Canada design as well.
So, if 1 and 2 goes together. This will not be the Maxima that comes out next March.

Looks run-of-the-mill, follow-everybody-else. Especially as others were saying - the rear and side does look extremely close to a Camry, a design which I'm not real keen of. You might even mistake that rear/the camry rear for a new Taurus. It's neutral overall to me.
Then again I never really liked the styling on Max's past the third gen. Looks better than the 5th-gens, that's for sure.

just my opinion
If that's what the new Maxima is going to look like, I am not regretting the one I bought in June. Sure, it's a new generation but i still think the 2002 and the 2003 models look better than that. How about your opinions?

I'll stick to my 4th gen...
this new thing is too big- I'm not 65 yet
its ugly- the front looks pretty sick and the car looks like a whalelish blend of Altima, Passat, and Camry- i aint feeling it!
now if the next Max kinda looked like MaximaZero's sig with a Skyline rear end count me in!
