What was your first ride?

I think it's funny to see how our tastes have changed or not. Be honest and post up. Also, my sig is not BS-I was first stationed at Yokota Air Force Base Japan at the lovely age of 18 for four years. I loved that damn car.

In 1997, when I was 16, my parents bought me a 1985 (86+ was the next generation, so still the real boxy ones) Accord Se-i.

Perforated leather, stock alloys, tint, sunroof, power locks/windows....man, that was the ride The Se-i's in that generation were rather rare...

My late-20s cousin still drives the d4mn thing. It's got something like 165k on it now...

1991 Ford Thunderbird LX...

Loved the smooth ride of that car. Never had any quality problems. The only thing I didn't like was the anemic 3.8L (for a car that weighed over 3700 lbs) under the hood.

My first car was 1987 Silver Maxima, bought it from a private owner and then ended up finding someone's panties underneath the passenger seat.

1985 Honda civic hatchback back in 1991, in oxidation gray. My tastes have definately changed! Well, I say that, but it was free. When I got it it already had 145k miles.

My first car was an '88 Nissan Maxima white w/ sunroof. Parents gave it to me when I got my liscence in '94. Unfortunately, finishing high school, and then moving out to college, I had no $$ for mods, so the car was bone stock. Loved that car! I've been a Maxima nut since then.

93 Candy Red Nissan Sentra SE. All so dependable. Gave it to my sister, but I must say that miss those sporty bucket seats. The interior was pretty nice too for a 93.

In 1996 I got my mom's 1991 Nissan Stanza XE. 5-speed of course!

A boring, slow version of a 3rd gen Maxima.

I'm now driving the 3rd of 4 Nissan's that I've owned.

87 Nissan Sentra XE 3spd auto - the poor thing could barely maintain speed going uphill over the mountain to work, but it could handle the twisties on the way down!

1986 Audi GT Coupe. The thing was a rolling timebomb. =) My uncle gave it to me.. the only problem was that he lived in canada and i live in ny... so the car had ontario plates and i couldn't register it in ny because the speedo was in km/h and didn't have mph anywhere on it. all i knew was that 90 was 55.

Oh yea... it had no a/c and the windows didn't roll down. one night driving to the movies with my gf the muffler fell off so we went to nearby target, bought a bungie cord and held up the muffler with that... the other end of the bungie was in the trunk. the problem with that was one day I opened the hatch and the bungie came FLYING into my face and left me with a huge welt... looked like I caught a left hook from tyson. From then on I never opened the hatch.

When I turned 16 I drove 500 miles down to Fla to get my first car... err truck actually. 1982 F150. Bought it from my uncle for a whole $5. That was a fun vehicle and I got a chance to learn a lot about engines while working on it. I've also had a 93 Ford Escort wagon, 95 Mazda B series pickup, and an 88 Nissan Stanza ("the box").

1970 C-10 Chevrolet Longbed with the 292 inline-6 4-speed with granny gear. You could put it in 1st...hit the gas...let off...then hit the gas again real fast and the front tires would pick up off the ground.

Probably the best times i will ever have driving were in that truck. I know every dirt road there is within a 100 mile radius.
