87 Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo.

My own little color TV.

Ran great until the clutch blew on a back road. The same night, while it was parked there, some a-holes from a rival High School took a bat to it and totalled it.

Mine was a 89 Maxima se bought it in 10/00, I still have it. One thing I have noticed about these post is that the people who had a maxima some time in the life almost always bought another maxima right after they sold the older one. That says alot about a maxima.

the first car I owned was a dark evergreen 98SE! traded in the civic and only got $300. Thinking back I should have kept it and did what shingles did to his civic

Yep, but only driving conservatively. Pushing it really hard got the mileage down to 1 mile/gallon. BIG cam, 850 Holley with oversized jets and accelerator pumps, clutch, tranny, suspension, exhaust work, typical late 70's speed stuff. Still a blast being to pull the front wheels off the ground going into second gear-on street tires!

1993 Ford Ranger XLT

Well, my parents bought it for me and my bro to share. 4.0L auto, red, great stock stereo. Ran 16.86 in the 1/4. Was fun, but not much room. awesome one wheel burners, neutral drops, brakestands. It endured much abuse, and to this day runs great. Never had to rebuild eng or trans.

1966 VW Beetle - used a calendar to measure acceleration.
Low gear was good for a screaming 12mph.
Heater? What heater????
Finally died with 245,000 miles on it in 1975.
But it never once left me stranded - even when it was parked in a snow bank for 6 days.

That pic brings back memories! I took my driving test in a 1979 Buick Regal and passed, two days later, someone slid into me in the rain and bent the frame and it was bye bye regal.

My first ride was an 85 Chevy S-10... 1.9L 4 Cylinder, 4spd. No air conditioner in Fl where it's 90 degrees and 89% humidity. No radio, just a hole in the dash, and no speakers either... not even an antenna. Big a$$ rip in the driver seat. I bought a seat cover, put new rims and tires on it, put a brand new Pioneer head unit in it, 4x6's in the dash, two 6x9's in the back, and two 8's. It was a nice lil ride after a little TLC, and it got me where I needed to go, but it was still hot as hell in that thing. And I never could get it to stop back firing on me. But it was a good first ride.

My first ride was actually a Honda CB175 Motorcycle but since we are talking cars...
A '74 Toyota Corolla 4dr. Had it for 3-1/2 months. It must have been repainted and the original color must have been yellow cause boy, was it a lemon. Luckily sold it for what I paid for it.

My favorite though (besides the Max of course) is a toss up between the 1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme Convertible or my 1976 Olds Cutlass Supreme. 350 4barrel V8. I nicknamed it the "Gaz Guzzler" although mine was not bad compared to kwd2kSE's 4mpg. Mine was 8-10mpg.

my first car was a 95 jeep grand cherokee limited with the up country package which i shared with my elder bro.. then i went out and bought my own car 89 crx and played with it for a bit, unfortunately it had two salvage titles prior to me buying it so it was falling apart, then i came across this maxima. 2k gray luster. and she's gonna stay for as long as she lives.

1973 Chevy Vega... You guys know what that was? a POS. Except mine had a chevy 327 small block with a few mods hooked up to a 2 speed (yes two, thats no typo) powerglide automatic transmission! With stock wheels this was the ultimate sleeper! Took out many a Camaro & Mustang in its day (I bought it in 1978). Ah how I miss the torque of the V8...

1989 Plymouth Horizon Limited Edition Turbo Sport Coupe AWD. The only 4 door coupe ever made.

Well, most of that's a lie, but that's what I always told people, they sounded impressed like they knew something.

Long live Voltron, baby blue, pimpin with JL Audio, Alpine and Boston Acoustics. About the sweetest Horizon this side of the Rio Grande

Metallic Burgundhy w/ 35% tint. Sold it to my cousin who proceeded to smash it into a telephone pole about a month later. She ruined my first love.

1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Brougham Royale Coupe - man I miss that car. So I only got 9 miles to the gallon, had a freeon leak long enough to kill the ozone single handedly, had bad emmisions, and some rust..... at 16 having a car that destroyed the local camaros and mustangs but still let you fit 13 people (did that a few times ) in the cabin was a great car to me. Long live "The Delta"

my best friend in high school failed her test for her license 3 times in her family's 73 vega, shift was on the steering column. I have many fond memories of that vega (aka the veg-a-matic). . . .(it was a POS)

my first car was an 84 buick lesabre with a brown rusty outside, fake faded wood trim inside with a falling down cloth roof. The only good thing about the car was the comfy seats and an after market stereo my brother put in. Still have the damn thing my dad will not let it die and thinks he can sell it for $1000
