17,000 mile tune up

17,000 mile tune up

what do i need to change at 17,000 miles? i have a 99 se.
i was thinking tranny flush and fuel filter?
anything else?
nissan's recomendations are b.s

At 17,000 miles, there is no major service. What I do every 15k miles, (which the owners manual recommends every 30k miles) is the following:

Oil and filter
Drain and refill coolant
Drain and refill ATF
Change air filter
Change fuel filter


Pretty cheap if you DIY.

Is that 17 or 71? At 17 oil, air filter, nothing else. If you don't feel like spending the $8, technically air filter is not necessary either.

How on the world do u have just 17K miles on a 99, i have a 01 and im closing in on 17K. u must have gotten one crazy deal or u dont drive much.

i don't drive much

i baught it new and the first year i put 5k miles, second year 10k, 3rd year 1k till now so i put about 1k miles this year so far.....
they cars sees more garage than sunlight.

i should put some toys in the garage for her to play with cause she must be bored in there all the time!

Thats a 3 year old car that means you drive an average of less than 6,000 miles a year wow. I cant say much because my 97 only has 39,000 miles, while my 2k2 has 10,000 already. I only drive 5 miles to work one way although.

oil at 15k? its oil ever 3-5k from what ive been told...
