Computer Diag
I was watching one of those car performance shows on TNN and they hooked up a comptuer into the diagnotic port of this minivan and were able to cahnge gear ratios and all sorts of cool stuff. Do we have a diag port on the Max, and is there a computer like this (it was a small handheld thing)? If so anyone use it?
Change gear ratios with a computer?
I don't think so... unless you have a CVT.
The ports will only give you error codes and what the sensors read... kinda like a OBDII reader and TECHTOM

You read my mind
Dude I was just about to start this same thread. It was HorsepowerTV. They put a Borla catback and a K&N panel filter in an Astro Van
. Anyways, they got 17hp at the wheels, but they hooked into and 'reprogrammed' the computer using a device that asked yes and no performance questions. I was wondering if this is something we should be doing?

yeah, i watched that same thing on tv.lol. i just posted about it in the 3rd gen forum. anyways, i would rather have that than have to take my ecu out and send it to jwt to get overcharged and have pretty much the same thing done. i looked in the summit racing catalog and they do have some of the reprogramers. they are only like $300 for them, but they didnt have any listed for maximas. they only had ones for GM and Fords
