Timing Chain Question

About how many mile should the timing chain last on my 92 SE? I have a 115K miles on it, and I heard from an ex-Nissan mechanic that they tend to go right about then. Any info is greatly apreciated. Thanx.

I had my 93se 5spd for 190k miles with no problem. It is not considered a wear item and with regular oil changes it should last the life of the engine. It is a heavy duty double row chain.

the only time i have heard of the timing chain breaking is when bad vtc assemblies broke apart and messed up stuff...so if your vtc's r bad just b careful and it might not hurt to take a look at your chain (take off the valve covers) and make sure everything is ok...but otherwise the chain is not a wear item and lasts the life of the car...good job
