K&N Air Filter Question

i asked this before but no answer. My intake is sort of big on my car, and i had to squash it in for it to fit. The only concern i have is that my K&N cone filter is the one that is squashed in because of the rubber. The rubber platform on the bottom is bent upwards (best way to explain it) for it to fit. Is this going to damage my filter later on, or is that rubber strong enough? I'm also worried about the seals..

Hmm, not yet since i don't have a digital camera (got to use my friend's). Just picture this... a K&N cone filter, and the bottom of it is pressed up (causing the rubber to bend inward and upward)

well i guess if there arent any cuts or crack in the plastic, i would say that its ok. i would definately keep an eye on it though. when it gets dirty, i would consider getting another one just so you wont have to worry about it. cobymoby sells his replacement filters for around 29 plu shipping. they fit and are a great filter.

Your filter should be fine. As it ages the rubber may crack along the stress points, but you are looking at a good 3 years or so before that happens.
