well, the headlight harness itself doesn't make the headlights any brighter.. the bulbs do. The harness is just there to make sure the socket doesn't burn out.. the stock wire harness is too weak for high wattage bulbs and your socket melts... from what i heard it takes less than a couple of months to burn them out, depends on how often you use them and for how long..
I have them and I can see a definite difference between my stock bulbs or even upgraded bulbs but stock wattage and these 80/100W APC bulbs.. not quite HIDs but closer than you can get with 65/75W bulbs

harnesses will make the lights brighter, as they will be fed more power all the time; however, harness and aftermarket 'hid look-alike' bulbs suck...i have gone through countless sets of bulbs, and even a couple harnesses, and i've always blown out at least one headlight socket w/in a couple months. get real hids or you'll be disappointed no matter what. the only bulbs that are a close replica of HIDs are the Catz galaxy white bulbs, which are 55/75w but put out 90/110 output. incidentally, they are not made in 9004s. damn it

That's true

The harness should make the bulbs brighter because the connection to the battery is direct and should increase the voltage potential. Stock, the power goes from the battery to the fusebox, through the firewall, to the headlight stalk, back through the firewall, and then to the bulbs. The harness just goes from the battery to the bulbs.

I have Matrix bulbs at 90/110 watts. They look brighter, but I wish they weren't so blue. After 2 minutes of warm up they look my white, but I think they'd be a better bulbs if they just didn't bother with the blue look. I'd like to see a set of overwattage bulbs that actually improve visiblity in all conditions.
