Do you guys dyno in 4th gear or 3rd? 4th is the closest to 1:1 that's why I ask.

I forgot ian was automatic, i'm sure he's dynoing in 3rd which is a perfect 1:1.

I've always dyno'd in third which isn't a 1:1, 4th is closer. Thus, my dyno figures aren't as accurate. For instance I saw a corvette dyno in 3rd and put down 330 WHP, and then he instructed them to go into 4th gear cause 4th is 1:1 and he put down 360 right after that. I was just curious if I should run a 1:1 dyno run as well?

All my dyno numbers are in third gear. I did do a 4th gear pull once and did make more power. I choose third because my first dynos were done in third because of my speed limiter and clutch. Now that my speed limiter is removed and I have a very strong clutch I could do a 4th pull no problem. After I tune in my new pulley I will do a 4th gear pull to see what 1:1 looks like.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, wouldn't a 4th gear run be more accurate? Also, would a 4th gear run in a 5spd be more comparable to a third gear run in an automatic?

Also, just for comparison, what was the difference in power from your 3rd gear and 4th gear run.

Thanks Mardisgras

Here's the graphs, I hit the limiter in 4th. You can see its worth a few horses to use 4th.

Also being that it's a later run that means the engine is hotter, thus it should be even higher when in comparison. I notice a 2-3 HP loss every single run due to heat.
