3rd Gen guys beware........
I just replace my sisters right rear window regulator. Once again, Nissan produces something with design flaws. I'm sure the more I rip a Maxima apart, the more I will find. Some of you remember my sunroof rebuilt where something broke because of a design flaw, now it's the window regulator.
My sister has a 93 GXE and her window wouldn't go up or down. So, I rip the door apart to find that the cables that control the height of the glass is tangle to hell on its roller. There are tracks on the roller to keep the cables from getting tangled but guess what, its made of cheap nylon plastic. So the one time my sister rolls her window down, the cables jump off the track and gets tangled up within the roller.
Luckily the part was in stock and it was about $76. Sorry I don't have a write up but this job is easy as hell to do.

cool
that's a very common problem for 3rd gens
Courtesy supposedly has improved "re-engineered" regulators according to their website, but I would assume other nissan dealers have the same thing
also, it's too late now, but I already have a how-to with pics of window regulator replacement on my site

Its not just the Maximas. My gf's 95 240SX has that problem on the driver's side. We bought a new regulator from Courtesy but had problems changing it. We're just going to take it to pep boys, they quoted us $63 for labor. Esserman Nissan quoted me $240 just for labor.
