Lame day at the track... killed an IS300 w/ nitrous however
I went to a highly touted event called GT66 at RT66 in Chicago. I think rain in the morning scared people away. The turnout was WEAK.
It was hot as Hades and humid as the rainforest, but I decided to pay $50 and race anyway (what a waste...).
The highlight of my races for the day was a White IS300 that I assume was spraying. Maybe he was turbo'd or SCd but I didn't hear anything of that sort.
On what was actually my best run of the day I ran a 14.65 @ 95 to his 14.95 @ 101. Obviously he had the faster car (on the spray at least ) but my superior RT (.554 vs .891) I know it's not factored into the ET) and 60' got me to the finish line first. My 60' was a dismal 2.3 to his unbelievable 2.58.
I only wish my VI and ECU had arrived, it would have been nice to be putting up some 100mph traps in 95 degree weather with 90% humidity.
BTW all I did to prepare for this was take out the spare and put ,y 15" millenia wheels on. I was running full interior and 1/4 tank, and I left my jack in the car (oops).
Other races included a modded MR2 turbo (we raced twice... he won once and I won once) I ran a personal WORST 14.97 and 14.93 against him, at 95mph on both, he ran an 18.x and a 14.74 @ 98.4. Raced a 3rd gen Eclipse GT, ran a 14.7 to his 15.6. Lastly a modded DSM... he ran 13.2 @ 102, I ran 14.6 at 95, again. I also raced some other ricer crap, all of which was slow.
I've probably made a future locked thread here... I'm sure this post will bring any IS300 lurkers out of the woodwork
