Sensors and Testing
Sensors and Testing
Would anyone happen to know if there is one place to find test values for all the various sensors and electronic parts on our engines???
If I were getting an 0304 KS code from the ECU, when I pull the old sensor can I verify it's really shot?
Are there other sensors and parts that may or may not have an associated ECU code that could be tested with a simple multimeter?
It seems that whenever you walk upto the parts counter and utter the word "sensor", before you can finish the part description the parts guy say "that'll be about $100"!!!

The FSM has instructions on how to test certain sensors/switches to make sure they're still within spec. I believe a multimeter will accomplish most of these tests.
The Haynes manual 'might' cover some sensors too, I'm at work now so I can't confirm it.

The Haynes manual does cover all the measurements for sensors. It's one of the best NON-MOD purchases you can buy if your a DIY type of guy/girl. It's also one of the cheapest and most useful tools to have for your car.
