Maxima AWD???

I could see an AWD Maxima. The 2013 Altima alreay pushes the spec limits of the 2013 Maxima since the Altima's already had its re-engineering update. As has been stated, the Maxima is the last of 5 cars to get a redesign. What could they possibly do better for the redesign?
Well, for one, they'll probably give it the 3.7 liter engine already in use. That will push HP over 300 for sure...though they may tune the Infiniti cars to use more HP (gotta justify the extra $10K). But what else? I suspect that AWD could be an option...would it be Nissan's first AWD with a CVT?
Can we assume it will have a CVT?

The Juke, Murano, and Rogue all have AWD with CVT. There is a discussion in the Manual vs CVT forum right now. I would love to see the 3.7 and it is a possibility, however with the 2015 emission standards I could see the same 3.5 with a CVT upgrade getting a few more ponies and a bit better fuel economy. It will look completely different though. A lot of people are here are saying the 8th gen wont be available until 2014 as a 2015 model, I could see details popping up in the next 4-5 months for a fall release next year. Look at the model cycles.95-99, 00-03, 04-08, 09-13 (4-5 production runs). I was told by Nissan corporate that the Murano and Max are getting facelifts next year. We will find out if that holds water.

The Maxima name will live on, however, with the US to get an all-new version of its Maxima in 2014/2015. The current seventh-generation Maxima sold in North America is based on the same platform as the Teana, but is styled and engineered differently to suit the market.
The eighth-generation US Maxima will share its platform with the new Altima and will have similar proportions, but Nakamura says its performance “has to be much better” than the Altima.
He said the design of the car was still to be finalised, and suggested it could have a wider track for a sportier stance.
