Hi guys

I dynoed today at 11.5 psi and got 371 HP and 369 lb-ft to the wheels. I seem to be hitting a brick wall on boost. I can't seem to get over 11.5 psi for some reason. I am suspecting the exhaust is getting backed up again! 4" exhaust time?. My boost controller also seems to be out of whack I had to set it at 13 psi to get 11.5 psi of boost pressure.

Something's weird cos I dynoed at 352 HP @ 9 psi before, now, I only get 330 @ 9 psi. I lost 20 HP somewhere. The only thing I changed were the wheels. I used 17" 2002 wheels instead of my stock 16s.

I am definitely at injector limit!

I'll post the dyno graph pic soon! *** EDIT, dyno is on page 2 ***) Still no sign of detonation got 760 degrees C max on EGT.

He's not the fastest if he hasn't been to the track.

Unless you can name someone with more HP in a 5 speed he's got the fastest max, 4th gens are light.

lots of hp doesn't mean much if you can't get it to the ground. Are you going to run on street tires or drag radials?

Wow really? I thought Don's time was more like 13.1, not 12.2 he has the fastest auto around because of his highly modded tranny. Nigel's will easily do 13.1 with a 5 speed and those HP and Torque numbers, I never said he was the fastest Max. We'll see, I bet he runs low to mid 12's if not better.

yeah, are you still running stock internals, or do you have VQ/VG30DET internals? (can't remember the engine code sorry )

I am pretty sure Nigel is on stock internals. And his only other mod is a Y-pipe (again I think).

Man those are sick numbers!

Shouldn't your custom exhaust manifolds fit a 5th gen?

BTW, you might want to check your flex section on the Y-pipe, Cattman or Stillen?

I'd call RC Engineering for the injectors.

If the internals are indeed stock, all I can say is BOOM sooner or later!!

I know that everyone has opinions, but I think that that turbo is a tad too big. The peak numbers look good, but the chart looks like a supra dyno, it is small until 4000 rpm and then it hits hard. I think a smaller turbo would give you more area under the curve, and a better all around power curve, with probably the same peak. I do not claim to be an expert on turbos, and I am not bashing either, just stating my opinion. I am just happy that someone has finally gone through with it.

I don't know, he's been running for a while and his only problems I think have been a slipping clutch and not enough traction. Don't you think would have seen something by now, espeically since his car is a daily driver?

How bout some actual help? What boost controller are you running? Have you checked your wastegate adjuster arm(if internal) or your spring and lock nut(if external)? As for your exhaust being too small, dream on. A single 3" pipe will flow well over 600 WHP so you've still got a long way to go. Anyways, I'm betting its either your boost controller(I'm guessing A'pexi AVC-R).

I will be going to the track in 3 weeks! I am on business trip starting this saturday.

You are not the first to comment on the size of turbo. I have decided to make an adapter to bolt on a T3/T4 and show you the numbers ... again, when I get back. I agree with you, if you have read some of my other threads that boost is late and falls off because of our intake manifold. Once that is fixed, I believe you can't beat the T4 for the strip.

So many people ask for dyno results and 1/4 mile results. It's the larger turbos that get good results, not the smaller ones. I know of civics running T4 turbos. Lag actually helps FWD cars to hook up. I've been asked a million times to take it to the strip. I am not a good driver (for strip) the results are likely to suck. Also remember, we are at 5500 ft above sea-level, so results will not be so good.
