Kev it's been one for sometime but never got around to putting the tip on until recently. Shing, dude I have the worst luck sometimes. I've finally got the whole sytem on(Y, RT cat, cat back and muffler) but I've been plaqued w/ problems even now. I had to have the ball socket joints put on each end of the rT cat becuase these flanges suck soo bad. Now the flex section is leaking. I suspect I'm losing some low end w/ the leaky flex and I certainly can't give any power or sound evaluations until I get this 100% sorted out. I CAN tell you that the noise coming out of the back end is ALOT quieter than the noise coming out of the leaky flex section. And I suspect after I get the flex sorted out, it WILL be fairly quiet(even w/ no resonator and 2.25 cat back pipe). I just found out that the orignal Cattman Y used a non-lined flex section and that is the cause of the hiss. I plan to have a new LINED flex section put in when I can. Then maybe I'll finally have the quiet exhaust I've been looking for. But w/ my mods now, I still pull into the rev-limiter. So if this muffler is affecting my top end breathing, I'm not really been affected by it IMHO.

Maybe thats why my custom y doesn't hiss?

Thanks mike. Did the shop put on a custom flex or just use the Nissan one?? I think the nissan one is a very good quality unit. I don't know if it's large enough though.

How much did you get that muffler for Jeff? And where from? I've heard the stock Max muffler is a very good, low-backpressure unit, however i've got a bit of exterior rust in a corner of it, and hey if i must replace, i must upgrade, right?

Nice Jeff, but you forgot to blank out your plate!

Okay thanks guys.

1) I paid about $200 used. But you can get them cheaper. I bought it along time ago so that's what you pay when you want it just after the 2000s come out. And I was willing to be the beta tester for the 3-gen guys.

2)Phoung. Yeah I was considering it but NAH! I don't have that kind of time and you can't really see it beucase it's tucked up there pretty good.

3) Lordrandall. Yeah, just about that time, isn't it??
