I want to get a cheap, under the hood analog fuel pressure gauge, since I can't afford a $200 electric one right now.

But with the analog gauge that resides in the engine bay, you can't see the needles move up and down as the fuel pressure changes. How are these gauges supposed to be used?

My stock fuel pump in my '98 has 120k miles, and it might be tired, so I think I'm gonna need a fuel pump to make sure the car doesnt run lean, even though my NOS is only a 50 shot. (the kit is going in tomorrow. )

You can buy a $20 mechanical gauge and put it under the hood works fine. What I did was put a 2' hose on it and run it out through the hood on top of the wiper blades so I can see it at the track but its still outside the cockpit. Poor mans gauge. When I am done at the track I just tuck it back under the hood and use it for adjusting the fpr etc.

Oh ok.. These mechanical gauges, are they still accurate with a 2' hose ? And how do you secure the gague in the engine bay? with a velcro?

They are accurate at almost any length hose, (you are already 10' from the pump already) I use a tie wrap under the hood. When you sit it on top of the windshield wiper the hood holds it in place pretty good.
