Everyone Please Read>>>info About Ming!!!
hey everyone, just want to relate a horrible story to all my friends here on the org, as well as people who doesn't know me.
Last wed afternoon I was driving on this back country road. It is a road near my house and I've driven on it many times before. The road recently got paved, so it was very smooth.
I was going around this curve which also crests at the peak of a hill when I felt the car loose control. I drifted over into the other lane as I peaked the hill, and saw a pick up truck coming the other way. Well I steered hard to try to avoid the car but no luck. I hit the truck, air bags deployed, and started to spin.
My car spun off the road into a ditch, and proceeded to flip end over end once, and rolled side ways numerous times. The car finally came to rest on its roof. I was hanging by the seat belt when I regained my senses. I had to craw out through the back window since all other windows were spidered, but not knocked out. Amazingly I was not hurt, except some brusies and cuts. The maxima crumpled perfectly!
as I ran back up to the road, I realize I had hit a water meter of some sort and water was gushing out of the ground. Then I saw this lady trying to help a man, who was laying face down in the stream of water. Apparently he was a pedestrian/jogger who was hit durning the accident. The lady had to lift his face out of the water so he could breath. Bad scene. A construction worker from up the road ran down and called 911. Not too long and the fire trucks, police etc all showed.
I was put into the back of a squad car and stayed there until hours later. The ambulence took the injured away and the police started to mark and measure skid marks. I was taken to the hospital to get a blood test for alcohol. I was NOT drinking. From there I went to the station, and was charged w/ failure to maintain lane, and homicide by vehicle. Yes, the gentle man died on the way to the hospital. My life at that point will never be the same.
The remaining details of jail, and making bond 3 days later I will not bother with.
The moral is be careful on the road, and slow down. All the things we do w/ our car carry a certain concequence that we really don't think about from day to day. But when horrible things like this happen, you look back and wish you could do it all different.
Good bye to all the friends I have made over the years on this board. The southeast guys have been a very close family, and I will surely miss seeing you guys.
I doubt I will post anymore, unless I get to part my car out, then you will see some for sale stuff. That is if it is still sellable. I haven't seen the car since the accident because the police is investigating it.

Doh! I was about to post the link to the SE forum telling people about Ming. Anyway, this sent chills up my spine. I'm glad that I have "calm down" lately. Like I told most of my friends, it's just not worth it. Again, Ming we have you in our prayers.

Hope all goes well, Ming. Glad you shared your unfortunate experience with others. This post will make everyone who reads it a safer driver and may save some lives in the future. You're a good man. Sorry to hear about that pedestrian. May it all work out for you.

Oh no!
that's terrible!
MING! Bro. hang in there! Keep the faith. everything will be ok.
If any of you have ever met MAC .. he is by far one of the coolest .org members.
i met him back in July01 for Maxus and he is the coolest chinese guy with a southern accent!
he had a rough time recent with his wing being jacked and other tough stuff but this is by far the worst..
does anyone know his wereabouts? i know he recent just moved to another part of georgia...
damn that sucks! if it wasn't his fault due to road inconsistancies, shouldn't it be the fault of the transportation people that set up the road?

Ming,
That was the most heart-rending thing I've heard in as long time.
I can't really pour out anything that others haven't already expressed here, but remember that God has a plan and trust that there was a reason for everything. Whether it was a wake up call for you, whether he was just ready to call that gentleman home and you were the instrument, whatever. Like someone said, accidents happen. Reflect, but don't dwell on it or this unfortunate incident can ruin two lives. You may want to meet with that man's family (as hard as it may be) and get absolution from them that they know it was an accident and how hard it has obviously affected you. There is also grief counlseling services available - don't let guilt take over .
You seem to have a good and compassionate heart - God Bless You, your family and that man's family.
While most of the .org is a loose knit cyber family, Your words may very well have opened someone elses eyes and consequently saved their life.

What terribly sad, sad news. I was wondering why I hadn't seem him around much on here.
I too met Ming for the first time at Maxus last year. He was actually the first person I bumped into as I pulled up to the hotel that Friday night. What a character! Ming is funny as hell! A bunch of us (Ming included) all hung out together at Nopi last fall. I rode with Ming to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory that Saturday night with Matt Calder and Tony Chang in tow. He picked up the bar tab as I remember. We had a great time. I got to really like him a lot in those couple times we met.
This is a damn shame for everyone involved. I feel for the family of the victim. An innocent bystander who didn't deserve what happened to him. Ming is a great guy and he didn't deserve for this to happen to him either. What a tragedy. I hope everyone reading this thinks twice when they head out to test their latest handling mod. It isn't worth it.
Ming, I was very much looking forward to seeing you at Nopi again this year. Take care. Good luck and God bless you.

Just remember one thing GOD is by your side no matter what, and what happened to you was an accident but will change a lot of things for you in the future for the better. Let my prayer be with you

Ming,
I agree that you should reach out to the family of the man who died - let them know how bad you feel, and let them know that it was an accident. They may reject you, harshly, but it's a step that I think you must take.
In this life we all have to take responsibility for our actions one day, and your day has come. Be a man, face the music, and be a better person in the future for it. Some people may think this is cruel, but I don't think this incident should destroy two lives. Whatever happens will happen. It could have been worse, so anything that happens in the rest of your life is a bonus. My heart goes out to you.
Good luck.
