To Tint or not to tint
Re: To Tint or not to tint
yes its worth it if it is a metalized tint that won't turn on ya. Put a 35% tint next to a non tinted car and you will notice a huge difference. I say go for it

Re: To Tint or not to tint
Definitly tint.. I'm not a huge fan of the real dark stuff so I went 35% all the way around and I'm very pleased with it. I have the tan leather, and I thought that it would make it to light inside, but it gives it more of a classy look, not the dark and getto look if ya know what I mean.. Great first mod (if thats really a mod??)
YES!!
Here in the deep South, really need/have to. But for everywhere, helps with the heat in the summer, helps to keep the sun from fading the interior. Make sure to get the best lifetime tint they have.

If all you want is to not be seen as much then go for it. If you're trying to cut down on heat and have a 2k2 it's not needed. (Glass is factory "green" tinted).
If you want to save your dash from fading/cracking, apply the 99.99% heat rejecting tint. (e.g. 99.99% denotes it's a clear film)

I got 20% all around
I might go lighter on my next car and go with 35s.. Really dark tints are kind of played out i think. Also, too ghetto.. my tint looks like limo at night, you can't see **** inside. In the daytime it's okay, you can see through but can't make anything out. My neighbor who is a cop says that I might have gotten my last ticket because of my tint, although it wasn't for window tint, they will go at anything suspicious. If i had a lighter tint, more see through, it wouldn't be that much of a problem most likely. But then again, i have a tan interior and it's light, kind of stands out... But I've seen 35% on a black on black leather on NYC GXEs car and it's dark enough

How about the Cons
The pros of tinting have been expressed well here, but based on past threads I've read, here are some cons:
Often expensive
Reduced visibility, especially at night
Increased risk of being pulled over if cops suspect illegality
Possible radio reception problems
Possible squeaking noises and/or slower action when rolling windows up or down
Possible bubbles or other imperfections if job not done by professionals

Definitely go with a 35% tint. The price you are getting is about the going rate (which is what you should expect especially at this time of year). It keeps the light out, gives you a sense of privacy, and looks classy. The cons would be that it's a *little* harder to see at night, but if you're young with good eyes that should be no problem.
BTW check the RSTB post I made an offer.

I think it's pointless to tint a car if you're not going to get it blacked out. I have 5% tint, and I've had it for over 2 years and no cop has ever said anything to me about it (even when I've been pulled over). Around here they don't seem to mind very much. I think blacking out your windows is the only way to go; knowing that noone can see you is nice. Whenever I'm in a car without tint I feel like I'm out of my cocoon. Get 5%, or at least 20.

Unless you have a medical certificate from an Opthalmologist stating you need it.

you can only tint the top part of the windshield, every state is different, but its about 6" and can be any percent.
