STS install problem removing bolts
I am in the middle of my STS install and I am having a problem

I am truing to undo the nuts with the red arrows in the picture that will drop the whole shift assembly , but the bolt is turning too. They are very badly rusted. What should I do now?

I had the same problem. You can get to the top side of bolt after removing shift boot. I believe (if I remember correctly), I used a center punch and knocked them out. The tops are pressed onto the threaded studs. Correct? It's not that big a deal. Once removed, replace with something other that the chincy OEM parts.
Thanks, that is what I was thinking I was going to have to do. I got the shift assembly down by removing the other big bolt. Those bolts are still there and I cannot tighten or loosen them. I will have to go back and knock them out and replace them with regular bolts. The shifter feels a little loose because of these bolts now.
