New best time at the track

New best time at the track
I had 6 runs and my best times ranged from 14.5 to 15.5
Heres my new best run:
R/T ... 818
60 .... 2.436
330.... 6.305
1/8 .... 9.486
MPH .. 79.11
1000 ... 12.191
1/4 ...... 14.497
MPH .... 99.42
Compared to my old best which took place on a 45 degree day(80 today) I gained 1.4 MPH and my ET droped .09. Now thats not much but there was a lot more heat today and humidity. The gains can be attributed to my Y-pipe and UDP I guess. My trap speeds are getting very close to 100 MPH these days
. My 60' still suck, no matter what I did I would either bog, wheel hop or my clutch would just slip, my 18' rims and kumhos are just not meant for the track. BTW My best time is with my clutch slipping.
FYI I had a 3rd of a tank of gas, spare tire and my tires where set at 32 PSI all around. I basicaly just ran my car the way it always is.
Hopefully next year I will get some better times, i'm all done for this season.
Ohh yeah I got a 14.8 with a 2.7 60' too
Thats pretty damn good considering how slow my 60 was.
Let me know what you think

. As for the plexi glass, get that to me ahead of time that way I will have my lights ready for you, I don't want to do it while your over
Maybe I will just pick some plexi up and make it..

Dang Ethan, your 2k2 is a topend **** ![Embarrassment](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif)
From my experience at the track, when I get better 60 foots (2.2s vs 2.3s), my trap speeds stay the same and sometimes increase. I rarely see a difference of .5mph between runs regardless of 60'. With some decent traction and cooler weather you'll be looking at lower 14s and possibly 13s if you rip off a really good 60' (2.0).
You're really get me excited about putting on my VI tommorrow night. Too bad it's an oven here in Kansas City right now (95+ everyday for the past 4 weeks
). I'm shooting for 100mph traps myself.

Dave I will be looking forward to hearing your results when you install your VI. Don't get to excited though, my max will always trap higher then yours
Steve my max actualy feels a good bit faster off the line with my stock 17's. I almost put my 17's on before I went to the track but I did not want to get my self dirty

i still want to know why my trap speeds are so low, i had like a 94 with my 14.3 and now i have 96's with my 14.4's and 14.5's my 60 foots are ok low but my traps should be higher, my car pulls on the highway hard but i can't get a good trap speed.

Steeve if you look at your dyno plot your car peaks early and then the power drops off rapidly. Some 2002's are like yours and other hold there power a bit longer. With my mods I have like 210 FWHP at 6500 RPM, thats a huge difference over other 2002's.

Ohh nevermind Steve your car does hold it's power pretty well to redline. I think a while back I confused your TQ band with your HP one
I don't know why you don't trap higher then? Maybe becuase you have the PSI on your tires low?

ya that's what i figured we're gonna have to do i'm gonna meet up with emax when i'm on vacation and hang out for a day and i'm sure we'll have our share of racing doing on, safely however. maybe it is because of my low low tires pressure, 20psi is what i run at the track. most FWD's can't get out of the hole cus they don't have enought power too, and all i can do is spin. if i could just stick a launch i would be 14.1. once it cools off a little more i'll be at the track like it's my job.
and Ewok, you going down
