Black 4thgen Tri-Cnty Cincy? Skyline-esk tails? Trying to Kill me?
Black 4thgen Tri-Cnty Cincy? Skyline-esk tails? Trying to Kill me?
OK...right now I am fueled so bare with me.
On my RIDE (read: motorcycle) I encountered a fairly sharp 4th gen, Black. Dropped, but with skyline type rear lights. I sped up to get a better look. I did have to beat on it a tad to catch up because the driver just munched it coming onto the highway....looked like he was jockeying for position with a F-150.
Caught up and saw a red GTR emblem on the back. Passed em and the windows were dark, could not tell the rims. Got in front (he was in left lane I was in middle) and noticed some red tubing hooked up to some cooling device up front so it could have had a FMIC, tranny cooler or oil cooler. Over all a really nice ride. I see so little of hopped up Maxes...I was excited to see this one. It was quick so I guess it might have had a SC...dunno cant hear with the helmet over the wind noise.
Well now it get bad. The idiot (sorry man but you exercised POOR judgement) decides hes going to run and practically runs me over. He was tailgating me so tight I could barely see his lights in my mirror. I had to turn around and point at him with some emotion and he did not get the point for about 15 seconds then realized ...oh....maybe I should back off and this guy is not going to run. He then at this point really backs off, which was fine by me. I have to get off the highway and he goes by and waves some kind of signal. Didnt catch it because windows were to dark, but it was more than 1 finger...so dunno.
Reason why I did NOT continue at high rate of speed: There is a 3 month long crackdown on speeders in this area of 275, State, Sheriff(County), and locals. Once you get past the Tri-Cnty wall they are everywhere. I sure as get out cannot go hauling over 80+ MPH through this area w/o great risk. Plus some nOOb just killed himself by loosing control traveling over 100MPH on his bike on a different section of highway so the area police officers are REALLY cracking down.
Moral(s) of the story...careful who you screw with or drive around because not all Maxima owners drive the Max to work or anywhere else (not that is should matter whether they drive a Max or not). ALWAYS give respect to motorcycle riders. They might be doing stupid stuff, let them go. There own stupidity. You do something stupid to a bike the repercussions are much greater....remember cyclists dont have 2 tons of steel around them. NEVER TAILGATE A MOTORCYCLE...if I jab the binders hard for any reason...I have no chance to survive if you are even a second to late. If you want to pass...flip your brights...I am not to proud to move over...I will move.
If you think you are going to race a motorcycle, DONT! On the average we are faster and more flickable. On my bike I have enough performance enhancement to do 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds or less depending on wheel hookup. I have yet to see ANY car that can do that legally on the road short of that 1 Z06 vette with all the extra work done to it.
This Maxima thought he might be able to out run or get a good run but you had NO chance should I have been dumb enought to race. I apparently knew more about the roadway than you did and you should have NEVER gotten that close. Period. NO excuses.

I hear ya. I had the same problem before I sold my sportbikes, car (including riced up eclipses and civics on a few occasions) would try and race me when I was just cruising along. What do some of these guys think? Forget my 600cc, even a 5 year old 500cc sportbike can do a sub 13 second 1/4 mile adn 0-60 less than 3.5. Guys , please don't tail sportbikes. It's not safe for either one of us.
