Well, I just bought a new car...
97 SE
Sage Mist green, sunroof, Bose, power seats, no leather
115k miles
not a single dent or ding on the car
Although I am not really a fan of the color that much, it's not that bad.. and I just couldn't pass on the deal I was getting, I'd never forgive myself.

only thing is....
i have no idea why they let it go for so damn cheap
I bought it with room for a thousand bucks in repairs
it has a check engine light that popped up that they warned me about before i drove off with it. I am hoping it's nothing serious, but i have a warranty too, so i can get it fixed
still wondering why they sold it so damn cheap.
but oh well, we'll see.

thanks everyone
I'm happy to be done with it. I didn't expect to find a 97 within my price range, the color and such can be worked on
the interior is tan
however the tan cloth is much more pleasant in the SE models than in my GXE.. not as yellow
Sprint, yes.
my father bought the auto 98 off me, he will trade it in or sell it when and if he wants to get another car, but he doesnt have time to shop for one and drives like 7k miles a year, his old car blew a head gasket so the 98 is staying in the family
i'm going to check the CEL and go take some pics

Congrats Steve, looks mint, reminds me of how I bought my 94, much better to buy a 97 with 115K that looks like that instead of a 97 with 60K thats been used in NYC. Guarantee you the car has seen about 95% highway mileage during its lifetime( 20K per year is way too much if it would be city driving or even 50% city driving).

lordrandall: yes, it is. lol
craig mack: thanks for kickin' that flava in my ear once again, i am liking it and yes, the 5 speed is so much more lively and such a pleasure to drive.
NYC GXE: I told you yesturday, in august of 2001 the car had around 75k miles, someone drove 40k miles in the last year on this car.. the body is in better shape than my 98 by far.
black01: Everything after taxes and registration will be a little under 7k.
190hpkilla: you're welcome to try it. i want to have other, more experienced 5 speed 4th gen Maxima drivers check it out so they can tell me if my clutch is okay. It feels a bit tight but i don't know how exactly it's supposed to be.
confused: thanks! The clears will be in soon
I was just out driving it, after not having driven stick in a long time. I know the basics but only time i really ever drove stick was on flat surfaces and not going passed 3rd gear.. very slowly and easily.
Right now, i came out and spent 40 minutes in the neighborhood, stalled like 5 times on these ****ing hills... but i got a hang of it.. on a flat road, i'm fine.. up hill, i get scared of rolling back too far and start dropping the clutch and giving it too much gas.. gotta learn where the clutch grabs exactly.. then i'm fine.. but overall it's a beast!
One thing though, the air filter was completely black, looks like it hasn't been changed in a long while, the car needs some repairs and maintenance things but I'm going to take care of all that ASAP. But I really like it overall.

I'm jealous! You know I want a 5-speed too! I'm probably going to upgrade to a '99 SE 5-speed once I pay this one off. I'll probably sell this one to my brother. He says he wants it.
Good luck with the new car!

If your on the hill engage your hand brake few clicks up and then try to take off. When you feel the car strugle let go of the hand brake. That what I used to do and still do on steep driveways.
