I DO HOWEVER LOVE THE I30..... I dont have a car, but have driven the I30 when my rents rented it. i peeled out pretty hard..... 1 time however, the tranny kicked unbelievably super hard during slow slow acceleration, the whole car rattled, but it never did it again, and we didnt run over anything, we checked.. so i dont know what happened.. they had 3 I30s at the rental place which 2 of them were having transmission problems and thus unusuable.. it drives pretty good however its kinda loud and a little to omuch road noise, and is 3 dbA louder than the previous I30

Umm, you came over here talking smack about Max's and you don't even have a car! Not only that, but your mom has a 4 cyl camry?!?! Okay, I've had enough fun for one day!

BTW, whats up with the gold trim around the whole car, and is that supposed to be white? Oh, and the I30 and Max are basically the same car, so how can you hate the max and love the I30?

whaaaaa

Who said i hated the max? i just said the cam is better.. and you dont have to own something to know what you're talking about.. a "title deed" doesnt mean you all of a sudden are a geniusand yes its a 4cyl 5S-FE.. the most reliable engine on the planet.. next generation camry will feature HID lights in 2004, and will be as big as the maxima and will feature much more powerful engines... watch out maxima... handling will also be greatly improved.. i got these figures from inside sources

well first you have to keep in mind its a rental and people do beat on rentals

because they don't have to pay to fix it.

and i know what your talking about i almost b!tch slaped this kid for laughing at my because i didn't know something about cars. and his reply was"howed you get your lisence and you don't know what this is." i wanted to kick his a$$, just because you have your lisence don't mean you could rebiuld a fu#$ing tranny.

and you should really stop believing everything sales people tell you. you never said you drove a maxima, only the camry. so your views on the maxima is kinda bias. because you only drove the camry and your reading what other people think. trust me buddy i drove my arnts camry and i drove my maxima, the maxima is better by a long shot. the camry is good it had alittle power, but that 97 camry didn't compared to my 90 maxima. i know that if you drove them both you would never repeat what you read in those magizines.

and another thing after all that **** you were talking the first time you came here.

i thaught you would of been smart enough to lie and say that its your car not your moms, and that your thinking of buying the i30 to replace it. i wouldnt start trouble like that and then tell everyone i don't own any of the cars was talking about.

FYI....

My inside sources would be a Camry manufacturer actually working at the Toyota plant in georgetown, ky... they start training to build the new gen camry 18 months in advance whereas honda, nissan, Gm, ford etc, start 8 mos in advance

Hey man, don't worry... I think guy is not the word here, kid is.

BTW vernon... a shorter lead time to a new model means the manufacturing technique is more efficent... The mear fact that a car maker can turn around in 8 month to tool for a new model is a good thing, not a bad one. Taking 18 months to retool is NOT, I repeat, NOT a good thing. The longer it take for a car maker to retool, the more money they lose. Simple as that.

TRD Stage 3 (eibach trd springs, bilstein struts, short throw shifter, TRD exhaust)
RMM intake

the car can handle like no other, but it's not as fast on the drag strip yet...

Hey Maxima guys...don't worry about this Vernon dude. If you go to our camryman.org community...he is unsucessful with his weak comebacks. He likes to come back for more and make more of an *** of himself. He's just a little high school punk that only gets to look at his mom's Camry and not drive it. He told me so himself. E-mail this guy if you want and give him some "words of encouragement" LOL!!!

TRD Solara's car is a Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix editiion vehicle. 35 were made and I think he was 23 of 35.

BTW...That 20th Anniversary Ed. Maxima SE is pretty sharp looking. I like the overall package.

Don't listen to Vernon

This idiot Vernon, is just trouble. The Camryman.org forum members don't like him and they have warned Vernon many times to stop posting here cause we don't want to cause a fight. Vernon is an immature little kid and he should be ignored. Do us a favor and DO NOT respond to this infant. Many of us at Camryman.org have respect for the Maxima crowd and Vernon is just making it worse. I have a lot of respect for the Maxima owners also. I just don't want to cause a fight between camryman.org and maxima.org. That's all. Happy Holidays to you all.

Re: Don't listen to Vernon

Thanks for coming over here and being ambassadors for the Camry crowd. I know we both have personalities that our sites have to deal with and as long as we make sure that we don't use them as the bar to set the standard by for our respective groups, I don't think there'll be a problem.

You're welcome here anytime.

Thanks for the info Toyota guys

It's really annoying when you have a immature kid, like Vernon, start flaming people with comments like "mine's better than yours, my mom's ride can whoop your ride, etc." I'm glad that some of the Toyota guys took the initiative to let us know about Vernon, as at times, these car comparisons are a waste of breath and lead to non-productive arguments.

I'm glad that there are some car enthusiasts that like their cars for what they are, whether they be Toyotas/Nissans/Hondas/Mitsubishis/etc., and don't compare to others. We like our own cars for what they can and can't do--so why compare to someone else's car? Thanks again Toyota guys.
