where to place jack stands
where to place jack stands
I read through many of the old posts for about an hour, but I'd just like to get more answer to be sure.
I've lifted the car many times and have used the stock jacking points to place my jack stands.
BUT, I want to know other places to put them SAFELY. I'm going to change my manual tranny oil very soon...so where should I place the pair of jack stands I have?
I need specific locations, and if possible, pics. I just don't want anything to go wrong.
thanks

Looking under the bottom of the car. You'll see a ridge along the outside. Right behind the front tire there's a notch in the ridge. That's the stock jack point. I put my jack stands just inside of that notch. I believe there is one in the back as well. Once you get the car off the ground and on jack stands give it a good shake to make sure it stays put. I think this is in the owners manual as well.

I told you that no one was specific enough. All I found where places to jack the car, not place the jackstands.
I've seen many install pics with jackstands NOT uder the stock jack points. It was somewhere in the front suspension, closer to the center of the car. I think in my searching someone said the hinge point of the control arms, but I'm not sure.
