Which cat to get??

Search has been used.

Now that that's out of the way. I am looking at warpspeed's page and they have 3 different cats.

1) metallic substrate cat $175 made by ????
2) Carsound $100
3) Catco $90

OK, in my search (see I did search) I found out that the metallic cat gets to operating temp faster. Any other advantage? ie is it worth the extra $75 or $85.

Lastly besides $10 is there a difference between the carsound and the catco?

Thanks
Chris

Have you thought about a test-pipe. Most people on the board feel the cat adds minimal increases in power.

Same with the test pipe and I really do like to breath. Really the only reason to change from the stock cat is if either you've got money burning a hole in your pocket or your stockers messed up.

As for cats I seem to be partial for the orange morris cats. Meow...

In all honesty..I doubt a high flow cat will provide you with that much power on a na car, if you want some noise...extra that is..take it off and get a test pipe like brian said. The random tech cat should be a direct bolt it check it out at www.custommaxima.com in the performance area if your just really wanting one.

Thanks guys.

I have a rattle under the car from about where the cat is. It sounds like my friends old Honda did when the material in his cat came loose. I will do more investagation this weekend. As for a test pipe...I would never pass NJ emmisions.

Damn. You beat me to the punch.

Personally, I'm partial to my own 17 pounder named Gato.

is your car fed spec or cali spec.. cali spec cats flow better than fed spec cats.. i've been told that cali cats are basically hi flow already.. i have a car sound hi flo cat and my car is cali spec.. i still feel stupid for buying the darn thing especially because i knew this before hand. after looking into both cats i think it's safe to say that they flow about hte same.. having too much flow could cause damage to the 02 because it gets hotter too.. there are success stories about having a straight pipe and a long lasting 02, but that's another thing to think about.
