Hold on before you chrome plate them. I looked into this myself and inquired at a company that does plating for my company. They cannot plate only the outside of the caliper. All the seals must come off and it's dipped into a bath. This puts chrome on the inside of the caliper thus changing the dimensions of the piston cup and sealing rings. It will not go back together correctly. Brake calipers are machined to pretty tight specs. Plating it will put the specs out of range and your caliper will no longer function.

Please be careful, don't get stuck with 4 new chrome plated calipers that will no longer function. They might become paper weights.

I used the Folia Tec Caliper paint system and I gotta tell you they look totally professional. The paint drys with a rock hard epoxy like finish on it. I used silver for a nice clean look and couldn't be happier with the results.

I used the same kit and mine is chipping like a ****. Plus it was a pain to paint. I wish I could remove my calipers and just spray them.

You must have done something wrong. This stuff is like a hard epoxy coating when it drys. I know guys who've had their calipers painted for years with no problems and they still shine like the day they did them.

I think it's from the pressure washer I use. I'm done with that thing though.....

I used $4 high temp paint like 50% of the members here and its held up for almost two years.

I sprayed the stuff into a glass jar and just took a brush and painted the caliper myself. Looks just like njmax's.

Why don't you try this idea: Spray or paint on chrome spray paint, and put a high-temp clear coat onto it. Better yet, try to find a chrome high-temp paint.

This is a good idea. Make sure the paint is high temp.

I appreciate your input, you are right about the built up of chrome on all exposed surface cuz you have to soak the parts to have it chrome, but we will figur out a way to cover the piston internal cavity so it will not change the spec and thus the piston can go back theres and make is job, it's just a matter of hidding the internal part we dont want to be chrome, dont worry it will work, the guy who has the shop as been doin this for well over 20 years so he has many trick in his pocket.

So where the hell do I buy those and how much ?

Cheers

Thanks for input.
