Need help Fast! Axle Nuts!!!

Alright, I can't get the dang axle nuts off!!! Ive broken a breaker bar and a torque wrench trying to remove them. I just went and bought a $40 breaker bar, but I still can't get them to budge. My haynes says they are torqued to 230 ft/lbs, but Ive had less trouble removing things torqued 400 ft/lbs than this! Any tips greatly appreciated, waiting on this to remove my auto... Thanks in advance.

Dude you must be pretty weak. J/K...Use an extension on the breaker bar to give you more leverage..once you hear a loud pop, you've got it!

I'm just worried about breaking another breaker bar... Pretty weak! I broke two breaker bars already, it's got nothing to do with being weak!

Don't stop now, you got a long ways to go before you are done...wait till you have to bleed to system...takes a good 2 hours of tedius work filling brake fluid, pumping clutch, getting air out...it made us go half crazy.

For future reference. http://www.northerntool.com/ usually sells some cheap made 3/4" drive socket sets with breaker bars. I once got a whole set for $45 and it has paid for itself several times in convienence. Mainly for removing the axle nuts on various cars.

Thanks for the link, I'll bookmark it. I had to pay $40 for one new breaker bar, but it did the job...

I wish I was still by my old squadron... We had a 4 1/2 foot torque wrench good up to about 600 ft/lbs that we used to torque rotor head nuts and input shafts on the front transmissions of the helicopters to 450 ft/lbs...

The axle nut is probaboly one of thse most stuck nuts on the car. For me, I used breaker bar plus 6 feet metal pole from hydraulic jack and I was able to BOUNCE at the end of it until it finally went POW! And then it busted loose.

Damn bro, you must have not known what u 2 were doing! First time it took me like 3 hours to bleed the clutch. Doing meccanobles car it took me about 10 mins. You gotta fill up the top bleeder valve with fluid and let it run through to the bottom till it drips. That saves alot of time.
