WHICH Max is Fastest...
which maxima do you think is the fastest one?
the fastest auto?
the fastest manual?
I heard that the fastest Max is the 3rd Gen SE made during 1992-1994 cause it has the 190 hp engine and is the lightest out of them all...
what do you guys think? lemme know!!

3rd gen SEs are not the lightest. The lightest are the 4th gen 5spd at ~3010 lbs. The 92-94 SE 5spds were more 3075-3100 lbs. The 5th gen 5spds are ~3150 lbs.
5th gen 5spds are the fastest 5spds, followed by the 4th gen (95-98, anyway) 5spds, and lastly the 92-94 SEs. All cars are very similarly quick...none are that much faster than the other, with the exception of the 5th gens at 80+ mph...much higher HP helps high speed acceleration.
As for autos, I can't speak, but the fastest auto Maximas here have typically been 95/96s. I'm quite sure that eventually we'll find that the 5th gen autos are again the fastest of the bunch.

cool.. i thought the 3rd gen was the lightest too but i guess its not... i have a 90SE so its has the 160 hp and i have a 2000 SE with 222hp and in the begining i thought the 90 was faster but then like maybe a week or 2 later after i let the engine break in in the new one i started taking it out on the highway and i easily saw that the 2000 was faster... btw they are both autos... the only thing i dont like about the 2000 is the steering is not as tight as the 90 i feel the 2000 is harder to control at high speeds than the 90... is there anything that could be done about that?

C/D recorded a '92 Max SE 5spd 190hp doing 0-60 in 6,7 and the 1.4 mile in 15.3. Don;t have any other magazines to refer to. I think the 4th gen 0-60 best was 6.7 also, and I saw an ad for a 5th gen that did it in 6.6. No more info on 1/4 miles though, but I can dig it up later today. These are all 5spds by the way.
95 0-60=6.6

MT tested a 00 Max 5spd 0-60 in 6.7 and 1/4 in 15.1
MT tested a 92 MaxSE 5spd 0-60 in 7.1 and 1/4 in ?? I think 15.5 ish.
So buy going by these tests 95 won in the 0-60 and 00 won is 1/4 mile.
