So depressing... they bent the door frame too? Those stupid ignorant ....s! Couldn't they just break the glass and open the door handle? Why are they so cruel?

Also, it looks like my insurance company is only going to cover the glass, door and console damage, and replace the head unit. They say I did not properly submit for the rest of my mods, even though I talked to them on the phone and had the car inspected... They cut me a check for $1200, which is the cost of the repairs minus my $200 deductable... Cost of everything else lost is well over $1500...

I was reading a post about someones Honduh getting stolen, they said the windows in those flex a lot before breaking, like 5+ inches. I'm betting they were some punk kids that are used to stealing stuff off of those, and thought they'ed do the same to me...

sorry to see this. same thing happened to me minus amp and gauges. all they took was my face plate cuz they couldn't get my cd player out. used krobar(sp?) on both doors cuz they're nice. insurance companies sure do blow and try to nickel and dime you for everything. again, sorry to read about this and that it happened to you. that's why i got an alarm, thus far no more problems.

holy sheeeit..they did a lot of work on that door alone.
no alarm enh?
i don't get it..why do people wait until something bad happens before they get an alarm?

protect yourself...alarm w/ shock sensor would've scared them off quick.

That insurance thing is crap. When my CRX was broken into, they stole everything. I didn't have a single recipt, but I did have pictures of everything installed in the car, and pics of all the damage where everything was ripped out. They didn't say anything, they just called a wholesaler they deal with, got a quote on replacing everything, and I got to choose whether the equipment was replaced or I got a check for it. They lowballed the prices really bad since I didn't have reciepts, but they did offer to replace everything 1:1. They stole my Pioneer deck, Autotek amp, RF amp, 2 10" MTX subs, and a pair of MB Quart competition crossovers. Luckily, they didn't steal any of the components. The components cost as much if not more than everything they stole.

The bad part about that incident was they tried to not pay for 75% of the damage done to the car. There was damage on BOTH sides of the car and the rear bumper because the forced the hatch open. They only tried to cover the drivers side damage. They ended up paying for it all though.

What I would do about the insurance is go to your agent, not the adjustors. If you have a policy with multiple cars/house/life insurance and have had it there for a while, your agent should be able to help you. That's how my stuff got paid for. I went to the agent and said if they don't pay for everything then I'm finding another company (in a polite way). The agent got mad because the adjustor was ****ing around with me... and after he made a few calls, I got everything taken care of. HTH...

what kind of alarm would you guys recommend for cheap price, and is sensitive and will make noise? you can do anything to a non-aftermarket alarm equipped maxima and get away with it!

lets just hypothetically say that i was around when my sentra got stolen, and i had a gun. i have no respect whatsoever for people who damage, or more importantly, steal someone elses things. if i had been there to witness someone breaking into my car and i had a gun, i would have shot them. then i would have shot them some more. people like that SERIOUSLY dont deserve to live among us.

I feel for you man... same thing happened to me in NYC. I lost my system too, plus Passport 8500 and phone. Stupid ***** tried to jimmy my back window for a while but couldn't, so they finally ended up smashing through the tinted window. The thing that sucks is they bent something in the window brackets inside the door while they were pulling on it (from the scratches on the latch and the rubber on the frame it looks like they tried to use a friggin coat hanger or something), and now even after I replaced my window, the top has to be pulled in or else the window doesn't close right.

do you NOT see the door pic? does that even look like a work of a semi pro?!?! holy sheeeit i could've done a better job than prying the sheet metal of the door up. these clowns are ROOKIES! a simple alarm would've prevented or at least deterred them from doing this. rookies pass up on the alarmed cars. seriously how do u supposed the thief would cut the battery if they can't even get past the door lock.

nothing can stop a determined theif...just need to slow them down to frustrate them. and to add from the looks of this break in not everyone has an alarm these days.

again sorry for the loss mtrai..i hope you can get the $ back from insurance and rebuild.

I had my car broken in to a few years ago. They broke a window and took my practice bag. My hockey skates, sticks, pads, helmet, you name it. Statefarm covered the window, but since I had an aftermarket stereo, they didn't cover that or my personal items. I had to go through my home owners policy for that. Then the homeoweners said that since it didn't happen at my house, they weren't going to cover that either.
Insurance companys don't care that they lose 25% of their customers each year. More and more people keep signing up. I think I'm in the wrong line of business.....
My wife's jeep was broken in to 4 times. Eventhough you can unzip the window from the outside, the morons cut through the window on the softtop. The last time it happened, the alarm went off. I chased the guy in to some dirtbag appartments. I wasn't going after him on his turf.

That's why you get a remote pager - they will not go off even if you disconnect the battery.
