So my car went to the body shop today

but 4-5 weeks and $4000 later I will be happy and broke.

Im excited though Ive waited a while to get this done,
Stillen Kit Installed
CF hood installed w/ pins
New Moldings
Shaved antenna
Shaved Trunk
new front and rear bumper
new custom red pearl paint

after this Im taking a break

Im only gonna spend a max of $400 a month on my car until so I can save up for a new engine, so Ill be able to drive my $4000 body work around for a long time

Wow, it looks great now; I can't imagine how great it will look after! It's a whole new level. How come the 4-5 week wait, just a busy shop or are you waiting to get things in?

Good luck, post some pictures.

no disrespect but....

Alright i'm sure alot of guys are thinking this but won't say it. I think it's cool that you're really into this car but I would have parted out the mods, sell or trade the car, and use the 4000 to finance a new Maxima 6 speed at 0.9% APR

His car has heart and soul. Some people like driving around one-of-a-kind vehicles.

Yes but that's what people with modified cars like to do. They are many 4th Gens that have EASILY spent $6k on their car, some of which are only worth that much. The thing is, if you like your car, and it has nothing wrong with it, why change?

The key here is creating a unique custom vehicle...far from rice as possible. What's the point in driving a stock car. Mods add personality to the car...like Cyrus said, heart and soul.

I plan on keeping my car as long...

I hope I don't hear this in a few years when I post about my mods!!

I like the car. It was the first real Maxima in my mind. (but then again I am too young to remember gens 1 and 2!)

honestly I dont like the look of fourth gens and I could have bought one, but I chose a third gen because I like the "outdated design better" which is BS because its all a matter of taste. and since I dont have Mommy and Daddy to pay for it I can afford the insureance on a new max, and Im not really crazy about that design either.

I see alot of of fourth gens and I wanted something a bit different anyways
the cars almost got 190k on it I couldnt get **** for this car if I sold it anyways, but its cool everyones got their opinion

Seemed like that other dude who traded-in his high mileage 98 got less than 4k for it when getting the used Pathfinder.

Was $400/mo for this car a typo? I don't think you can even borrow on a 92 anymore, but if you could, why? Maybe it's a home equity loan?

Why are you not getting the door moldings shaved?

I think that many will agree that the 3rd gen was a great design- much better than the 4th and 5th gens- but of course everyone has their opinion...
NJ- great work on the car, I can't wait to see it.
BTW, what engine are you putting in? You should try a vg33e!
