Apply Rain-X before you go. Better have them have problems putting the number on than you taking it off

hehe you can't scratch the window with the razor blade. Apply the blade FLAT on the glass, and move it in a steady motion remaining at the same angle. To get stickers/shoe polish off glass, that's the best way. Applying Windex can assist as well.

Be careful with an exacto blade, it's at an angle and if you scrape hard enough, you can scratch the glass. I know because I've done it before removing vinyl graphics with an exacto.

Why are the numbers so hard to get off? At the track I go to, water wipes off whatever they use to write the numbers. It rained after I went the last time and half the numbers washed off in just that.

have the razor at a really deep angle, ie. pretty flat to the window like lime said. it'll only scratch if u have a point on it. make sure the razor is nice and clean and has a smooth edge.

Shaklee Basic H (www.shaklee.com) 1 qt=6900 bottles of windex and by changing the solution you can use it for just about anything. I put it on my hands full strength when working on the car. It acts like a glow so when you wash the oil and grime off, it just comes right off.

I've only had to deal w/it once, and just went up to the car wash I used to work at & used the solvent there. Came off instantly with a wipe or two. Same solvent they had us use for tar on rocker panels and anything real sticky on windows (if I see anyone make the obvious comment here, they're getting a )

I'm not sure of the brand name product but similar in function to some products mentioned earlier in the thread. No scratchage needed.

soap/water/hard scrubbing didn't do nothin for what they put on my windshield.

I didn't do as well as I expected, not even close. I'm going to try to use m 15'' blades the next time I go. I know I'll do better becuase i have a feeling my potenza re730s + 17'' wheels weigh a TON.

btw, the stuff they used to write my numbers on my car could not be removed with any cleaning solution I had. Dishwashing soap, Simple Green, Goo Gone, Windex all couldn't take it out. Heck, even my Eimann Fabrik undiluted didnt' even do the trick.

The razor blade method worked fine.
