If I was thinking about selling my max, could I get...

$14,500 for a 96 black SE auto with 64K miles on it. I've maintained my car better than any other max on the road here (Washington state) and it is spotless...besides the frigging paint. I'm thinking about putting it up for $14,500 b.o. cause I'm gonna buy my friends 95 cause he's thinking about getting a 300 Z TT. I've looked on nada guides and kelly blue book and high retail my car is worth $14,500 so figuring they'd sell it at the dealer for $15K or possibly $16K. Just a thought here guys....

What options dose it have?
$14,500 is a little high even if it has leather bose etc,If it has thoughs options then probably around $13500 and if it is a base model SE then around $12500 at best. These are prices that I think you could get for it so you could atvertise it for a little more maybe $500 more but expect to be talked down a little.Remember if you want to sell a car you have to beat the local compition so be don't just drive a few exter miles to get a better deal which they will {or at least I would}.Why do you want your friends friends 95?

Re: What options dose it have?
Well, it has full charcoal cloth interior, tinted windows, Cd player (aftermarket + door speakers) I'd be taking the amp and sub. No sunroof unfortunately. The reason I would want my friends 95 is because his is almost fully modded besides SC and such.. (about $13K went into mods) but he'd be selling it to ME for $15.5K cause he wants a 300Z TT and has always wanted one. He knows that selling it to me (like a brother to him) I would take care of it better than anyone else and he'd still be able to see "her".

I just bought mine this summer
It is a 96 SE with every option except anti-lock brakes, including leather and bose. When I bought it it had 48K miles on it. I only paid 10K for it. Maybe I just got a really good deal?

of course not.
you have high mile and it doesn't even have leather and sunroof.
nada and kbb is off on Maxima, cuz they don't take the $3500 rebate into consideration. my '98 gle with every option was worth $22k+ according to them in the beginning of year, i got $18k for it in reality.

Okay, okay...
I know mileage we can't count on because in WA state the average is about 15K per year so I'm about right on that. I wasn't aware of a $3500 rebate. When I got my car 2 years ago, the sticker price was $16,900 and I talked him down to $13,995 so I know I got a deal then... I was just curious about the selling thing is all. Maybe asking on the board is wrong cause of different states.. I'll check around at the dealerships and see... As soon as I pay this thing off, I'll just get an Audi or something. Thanks for your help guys

Granted, I have a different trim package,
When I tried trading my '98 GXE w/ 63k miles on it, The dealers offered me 9-10k in trade, and CARMAX offered me 12k. The guy I have bought my last 2 cars from had a '97 GXE w/ 24k miles selling for $12,000. I had mine on-line selling for $15k and got a couple nibbles, but it didn't sell. SO I've still got it. This was about 3 months ago.

I got more info about selling my car...
I talked to the dealer today (nice guy) and we took a look at some 96 maxima SE's and such (WA state) and they are still selling there's for $16500 was the highest and around $15000 or so was one of the lowest. So realistically I can put mine out for $15K O.B.O and see a $13K or $14K figure... I know dealers mark up there cars higher too but in this area, Maxima's are still high. 97's went for around $17K+ so there's my info for all of you who replied.. I still haven't looked in the paper though.. that's the next step.
