rear clears,help
i am going to do this mod, to those that have done this well, what did you use to cut the plastic lense with, scissors, knife, etc.? after taking out the amber lense, do you leave this piece out,and just put in the clear lense? does it stay in tight? any thing else i should know that's not on the directions that was given on this board? thanks in advance.
Afew things..
I've done this 3x, and well, the only thing you need to worry about is removing the lense from the housing. It's real easy to crack the lense while doing this, so do it slowly and carefully (and use lots of heat...)
I used a pair of scissors to cut out the flourscent light covering, and I glued it down with epoxy with some tape holding it in place while it dried. An alternative to this would be to heat the flourescent light cover until it takes on the same shape as the orange cover. Most people don't recommend using scissors as it cracks the light covers really easily -- and it does. I just found by turning the scissors backwards, it'd crack the outside of the shape, rather than the inside. So there wasn't any problem with cracks when I was finished. Good luck with it.
