Update on my motor operated exh. cutout valve

I'm running everything 3' from the downpipe back including flex section, cat converter, and resonator. Everthing else after the resonator where the mid pipe takes 2 90 degree turns and goes over the rear axle is 2 1/2" piping. The 3" cutout is mounted directly after the resonator. I took the car in and had the floor board cut out at this area to make room for the electric valve and a 3' pipe that empties under the rear pass. door away from the gas tank. Of course the floor board hole was boxed in and welded shut. I now feel I have the best of both worlds. The exhaust is relatively quiet with the valve shut and when opened I'm running a shortened version of a full 3" exhaust. Of course the open sound is awesome!
I don't think anyone will miss some foot room in the rear passenger side seat. In my car, no one ever sits in the back.

nice... I was thinking putting a cutout in a while back so I could run harder on the top.. I decided I didn't push enough power to justify it

How come you didn't put the valve right on the downpipe? The way you're running it now, it's illegal. And if you're gonna set it up so you have a toggle between illegal / legal modes on your exhaust system, why not go for the more beneficial one? On the other hand, praise for not having a stinky car
