Engine noise in a 95 SE, help? (long)
Engine noise in a 95 SE, help? (long)
To those who are knowledgable about VQ30DE (not those who think they are)-
Ok, so I bought some Denso Iridium plugs, pre-gapped from SparkPlugs.com for my 95 se 5spd. Long story short the plug in cyl. 1 malfunctioned and unseated the spark plug tube and gasket causing $375 bucks worth of damage. After this horrible incident I decided to stick with the factory platinum NGKs. However I still am feeling a shudder at low RPMs much like the feeling when my engine was only running on 5 cylinders. It dosn't seem as free revving anymore and it takes quite some time to reach freeway speed. Another odd thing is that my engine is running at LOWER RPMs (ex. at 60 it would run at 3k now 2.5k). There is really no way this could be happening something is weird and I dont think the gauge is broken. I need a new clutch, and it does have some slippage but not enough to warrant this kind of performance decrease. Does anyone know what is going on? I sure as hell don't.

if you had a cylinder misfire, then your car would jerk while driving. It's a bit scary while driving on the streets, especially on the freeway like it happened to me. I think my car did that because i relocated my knock sensor which is a big no no for anyone. If you're only running 5 cylinders, you will definately feel a significant difference, not a subtle one.
