Pulled a dent

... with a special tool. I saw an infomercial about the Ding King and then remembered a post here reviewing it. I did a search on the topic and got it.

If anybody remembers Superbowl from 2 years ago, Baltimore won the game. I was downtown at the time and some drunk jubilant fool landed ontop of my car putting a dent on it. So I've had a dent on my roof all this time.

So I had a bright idea, to use some sort of suction to pull on the dent. First I used a toilet plunger to no avail. Then I had a better idea, I needed something that could create alot of suction. I used my old pencil sharpener which has a suction base. Sure enough it pulled it out. Not all the way but its smaller now. Maybe one day I'll get it professionally redone.

Re: Pulled a dent

I had a drunk jubilant friend fly out of my sunroof leaving two small dents where his hands were.. They are about 10 inches around and not very deep at all but noticable.. you think a plunger or something would take those out? what about a small door ding

That's because you didn't use the Ding Kings SECRET SPECIAL ADHESIVE! hehe...I just wanted to make fun of billy mays. Nobody will think twice about putting adhesive on their paint as long as he says it energetically.

Funny, my two dents happen to be as a result of external jubilant drunkedness as well. I had a dent guy work on it at a place I used to work...walked away, came back 30 mins later, and the guy was just using assortments of small mallots to punch it out from both the inside and out. I don't know which is better - loose paint that's been pounded on, or two big fat dents?

Maybe one of these days I'll try that on 'em...(they're still noticable. At least the guy did it for nothing since I wore my old work jacket on my trip up).

The special adhesive is nothing more than hot glue. Needless to say, I sent mine back for a refund today. What a bunch of crap.

Unfortunately, I was the damn drunk jubilant fool once. Got in my car after the one too many, backed into a mustangs bumper and literally folded in my rear quarter panel. Immediatly after doing that, I put it back in drive and parked, called a friend and got a ride home.

Get this though...I come back the next day to see my poor baby. Oh, the pain!! It looked like someone kicked in the entire side rear quarter panel into my trunk. So, I took it to a body shop to get an estimate. The jerk quoted me $1200. That's didn't fly with me. I then took it to a paintless dent removal shop right down the street that had removed some dings for me in the past. He walked up to the car, looked at it from every possible angle, opened the trunk, pulled out my carpet and cardboard siding, gave one nice push and "BOOMP", it came right out. Like brand new. There was no indication of any dent at all. He then said, "Happy Birthday" and walked off. Cool guy.

Anyway, no more drinking for me!

I can not garantee that it work well, but my friend claims he did it to his older car and the result is pretty good. about the place, just type in "suction cup" and "dent" on the internet search engine and you'll be amaze how many places sell them.
